LUCY BANFIELD
For many years, I have, by profession, been surrounded by various art forms. Because of that I have acquired a deep appreciation for art, artists and the art process.
I am relatively new to the actual art scene in terms of producing and exhibiting my work. A tag line that rather sums up my approach is, it caught my eye. I'm always fascinated by the smallest details that contribute to the end results.
In terms of art forms that truly interest me, it is photography and assemblage that has caught my eye.
I never leave home without my camera. I am fascinated by architectural fine points. Natural still life vignettes abound. Sometimes it's a casually dropped bicycle or perhaps laundry strung between two European buildings. It all seems to catch my eye.
When I'm not occupied looking for eye catching images, I'm typically looking down as I walk, scanning for discarded objects to be used in my assemblage work. I'm drawn to anything flattened and rusty.
Assemblage requires gathering, accumulating, imagining and attaching objects to create art. Repurposing found items is the height of recycling and creativity for me. I adore the uniqueness of each and every piece.
It all continues to catch my eye.
It has been a pleasure to be a member of Points of View Artists.
